The Blood of Jesus in Warfare

It has come to my attention over the years how people are using the blood of Jesus in warfare prayer declarations.  Some of it is in error and I will give you some examples to explain. It is important to know how and who ministers the sacred blood of Jesus and I hope to prove it is Him and not us, He is the High Priest sent by the Father to minister the redeeming power of the blood.

It is important to know that the blood of Jesus is very important to overcome in warfare. So the Bible tells us Jesus is our High Priest and He is the One who ministers His blood on us.  Hebrews 9:11-14, v 11-12 says Jesus entered the most holy place with His own blood and v 14 says He cleansed our consciences with it. We had nothing to do with that.  I John 1:7-8 says if we walk in the light as He is in the light His blood will cleanse us from all sin. In Hebrews this happens when we get saved, I John happens as we develop a living relationship with the Lord. That means we are experiencing what it means to be in the light and have everything brought out that's not right -- 'til darkness is exposed, sins, fears, unbelief, anything that would've hindered our walk with Him. We know this is an ongoing process...  He is so kind to show us our faults and sins, yet He requires we walk in the light of His truth, and submit to Him, and in this submission He cleanses us with His blood. OH, how holy this is!! Bless His holy Name.

Then, you can see the ministry of the blood is sacred and something Jesus does -- not the believer.  In Hebrews 12:22-24 it says when we come to Mount Zion we come to the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel,

Let's face it, this is a mystery to most believers. So, in this brief teaching I hope I laid out a clear understanding that Jesus's blood is something He ministers as our High Priest.

Now a simple prayer:

"Heavenly Father, I come to you at this time to submit myself before you. Jesus told us to pray or we would fall into temptation. James told us to come and submit to you before we could resist the devil. So, in this time of prayer, help me be teachable and correctible to you as you search my heart and surface what may be giving place to the devil, what I need to know to overcome him and what you may lead me to do."

Once you start to receive, remain open, let stuff surface, you may sense some uncomfortable moments as light comes into the darkness of our hearts -- it happens to all of us.  Let Him cleanse you and replace lies with truth, fear, anger, unbelief with faith and love and truth.  Now the blood of Jesus will cleanse you as you stay open to His searching gaze.

After this you are able as James chapter 4 tells us -- to submit to God, then resist the devil and he will flee. So, then we know that Jesus is the One who cleanses us and we are the ones who need to submit to Him. We should all be aware that half the virgins in Matthew 25 were not in a right relationship with the Lord and were rejected.  We must understand the ministry of Jesus as our High Priest and come to Him for cleansing every day. For us who have a regular prayer life, this cleansing is done by Him as we come with humble hearts, the ones who are quick to repent and quick to forgive will be washed in His blood. Be those who are easy for Him to correct and open to correction, from the Lord or anyone else. When we walk in the light as He is in the light we can be victorious believers.  I John in all 5 chapters tell us how to stay in that light -- read it and be blessed.

This is a short teaching and prayer, but that prayer will work when we cooperate with the Lord and obey what He says, then we can tell the devil to leave. The truth is most of us are still dealing with our minds that are in the process of being renewed -- we still are open and susceptible to lies, gossip, half-truths, worldly beliefs, and our own old ways of thinking, and also the thoughts and beliefs of friends and those that we listen to or follow. The thoughts of God come by the Holy Spirit and as we listen to Him and follow His thoughts we can walk in the light and see clearly so we can be more sensitive to truth and discern much better between good and evil. Judge the thoughts that come to you; what is their fruit?  Do they help your walk with the Lord, do they give wisdom and insight?  If not, watch out and seek the presence of the Lord and the Holy Spirit will then give us light.

Well, I hope this helps you as you pursue  a closer walk with the Lord....
Blessings, Rick
